The bridegroom Lord Rama and the beautiful bride Mother Sita will be beautifully dressed and made to sit opposite each other, the distance between them is approximately 30 feet or so (depending on space available).Then, with the help of devotees representing the bridegroom and the bride, they slowly move towards each other, with each side representatives pulling them back to slow down increasing the joy and wait. This takes place nearly for two hours to cover that 15 feet distance each..because of cheering, laughing, singing and jovial comments amidst chanting of Veda manthras. Finally when the bridegroom and bride come near to each other,they are made to exchange garlands thrice. It is an exciting event to release the tension in the bride and bridegroom to make them more near and dear.
