Santhi Sundaram – HH Sri Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji’s complete Sundarakanda Parayana each day for a total of 68 days – was grandly concluded today in the divine presence of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and HH Sri Devanatha Jeeyar Swamiji – with the magnificent performance of Sudarsana Homam Purna:huthi, Maha Sa:mra:jya Patta:bhishekam to Lord Rama, Sita Rama Kalyanam and Sa:moohika Sri Rama Puja along with thousands of devotees and offering of 68 varieties of maha naivedyam to The Lord.
It was a grand spectacle which cannot be described in words. HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji adorned Lord Rama with two golden Pattabhishekam crowns, one enriched with various gems and another with emeralds – both offered to the Lord by Sriman Thirukkoshtiyur Madhavan Swami – amidst thundering chants of Jai Sri Ram and claps from devotees.
Lord Rama was also adorned with silver chamara, silver umbrella (chathram), emperor staff (raja dandam) – One should see the beauty of The Lord along with the presence of acharyas!
Later Sita Rama Kalyanam with detailed explanation of each step of the mega event and representation of 8 maha rushis as Marriage Heads was a divine experience worth to behold. Then, Sri Rama Puja was performed to Lord Rama by recitation of Sri Rama Ashtotthara Sathana:ma:vali by everyone. Speaking on the occassion, HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji told that whoever does this 68 day daily complete parayana of Sundarakanda, to them, Lord Rama becomes a permanent friend just like He is to Hanuma.
Also, HH Sri Swamiji spoke about the importance of Bhagavad Ramanujacharya and the upcoming 1000th year avatharana celebrations. As part of our gratitude towards Bhagavad Ramanuja, HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji announced the setup of 158 feet copper vigraham of Bhagavad Ramanuja (108 feet Ramanuja murthi sitting on 50 feet pedestal) with detailed colorful pictorial depiction of His life history around the murthi. All the assembled thousands of devotees vowed to contribute to the divine cause!
Sri Rama Padukas, Sri Rama Family Prathima (coin), Sri Rama’s Ring, Pearl Necklace given to Lord Hanuma (Muthyala Haram) kept all along with the deities were later distributed to devotees by HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, HH Sri Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji and HH Sri Devanatha Jeeyar Swamiji.
Water brought from Swami Pushkarini in Tirumala, which is equivalent to water from 60,000 crores of theerthams in the universe – was sprinkled on all devotees by HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. Later, devotees enjoyed the delicious prasadam of 68 varities to their hearts’ content.
Everyone felt as if they just witnessed a divine event in deva lokam. Jai Sri Rama! Jai Hanuman!
