Ankura roughly translates to process of initiating germination of  multigrains into small saplings. Every vedic ceremony is commenced with Ankurarpana Pooja  for  Loka Kshemam and Raksha – World peace and protection.

On the occasion of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s Thirunakshatram, Vedic Scholars and students performed Ankurarpana by chanting vedic manthras and slokas.  HH Sri Ramachandra Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji, Sri Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji along with HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji attended the auspicious beginning of the seven-day festival.

The ritual was initiated with Matru Devo Bhava prayer, revering Mother Smt Alivelu Manga Thayaru of HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. She was honored with fruits and clothes. Swamiji and everyone took her blessings. The service was then followed by Vishvaksena Aradhana, Punyaha Vachana, Raksha Bandhana, Ruthvik Varana and finally Ankurarpana.

Ankuraropana Pooja embarked successfully with planting of Nava Danyalu in 12 earthen pots filled with Putta Mannu (Sand from ant pits) by Srinivasacharya Swami and his team. These pots receive water and Nitya Aaradhana throughout the seven days of the yajnam celebrations. The plants will prosper and thrive during the seven days of the rituals.

Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji then hoisted Garuda Patam, once the Dhwajaroopana was upraised, signaling the start of the rite. Arani Madana (Fire Churning) was initiated in the morning to collect Vaidika Agni, for the purpose of utilizing it in Yajnas. The procurement process involves fire churning of Jammi Chettu (placed at the bottom) symbolizing Lakshmi Swaroopam and Raavi chettu (placed on top) representing Narayana Swaroopam. Both chettus are churned to ignite the fire which was used to ignite all the agni kundas in the yaga sha:la. The fire in all the kundas will be burning continuously for the next 7 days of the Bramha yajnam.

The celebrations ended with mangalaasaasanams from swamiji and prasada goshti.
